Koya is now closed but Koya Bar remains

Skinny Bib takes over the Blackboard 3rd & 4th May 2015

"Junya and I will be bringing Thai touches to the "Blackboard" at Koya. Junya is a big fan of masochistically spicy Thai stuff and I, of his informed seasonal Japanese cooking. Our collaborative 'Blackboard' dishes will focus on ways that Thai flavour's can be reconsidered with the use of Japanese traditional cooking and preservation techniques (think Pickled Crab Som Tam!) and with predominantly British seasonal ingredients. It's going to be a fun all-sharing feast."

"I fell in love with Thai food back in my youth in Tokyo spending a lot of time in the small underground Thai restaurants for Thai workers in places such as Kabukicho, Shinjyuku (known as the sleepless district) to quench my midnight hunger. I also ended up going to Bangkok several times to eat real Thai food in Thailand. The Skinny Bib has been a devoted customer at Koya over the last 5 years and I am pleased to call him a great friend. This collaboration is very personal and an important reminder of what we do here at Koya - eat the food we love and cook beyond boundaries."
